The Menu Control System is a management tool for costing recipes and menu items based
on component suppliers current contracted price.
Recipe items can be built from inventory item components. Menu items can be built and
costed from these Recipes. Other inventory items can also be included with the Recipe
when building a Menu item.
The Menu Control System interfaces to the suppliers item details.
This means that Menus can be easily and accurately costed by a sales area at any point
in time based on the suppliers contract.
The Price Look Up (PLU) sales from the store registers are imported into the HO
database daily. The import routine applies a menu item cost to the PLU sales to
calculate the actual sales margin.
